Discover the Beauty & Biodiversity of the Estate

Brimming with biodiversity, our meadows are full of wild flowers and herbs and the forests shelter nut trees, berries, and the beloved Porcini mushrooms - it’s a true forager's feast!

But best of all, there is a silence, broken only by the dulcet tones of the sheep's bells as they graze, the crickets in the distance and the occasional church bell. Come watch the butterflies and fireflies and enjoy the "dolce far niente."

Tuscany off the beaten path: Explore the MAB UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and Lunigiana

In 2015, Podere Conti’s municipality of Filattiera, which borders the Emilian-Tuscan Apennines National Park, was designated a MaB UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The Podere Conti estate extends into the National Park, which can be reached by foot or vehicle directly from the property, via the Prati di Logarghena, famous for its protected white daffodils. This is a stunning area to trek, cycle, picnic and enjoy amazing views over the three mountain ranges of the Emilian-Tuscan and Ligurian Apennines and the Apuan Alps with their sharp white marble summits.

Lunigiana is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. The rugged mountains are full of lush forests, and pristine waterfalls and rivers, making it an ideal place for nature lovers and adventure seekers.

Immerse yourself in the rich culture and history of the region

Home to over 100 castles and fortresses rising above mediaeval hilltop villages and rich in history dating back to the Middle Ages, Lunigiana is also the northern gateway into Tuscany on the pilgrim’s route to Rome, the Via Francigena.

The ancient inhabitants of Luni were devotees of the moon goddess, Luna, and it’s believed the city was named after her. Today, Lunigiana is still known as “The Land of the Moon” and is a fascinating destination for those interested in the history and mythology of the ancient world.

Surrounded by lush green forests, rolling hills, and terraced olive groves, Podere Conti is a secluded 200 acre farm nestled in the foothills of the Apennine mountains in Northern Tuscany.
