MUSEUM STATUE STELE

Housed in the Piagnaro Castle of Pontremoli,
these anthropomorphic stele statues date back to the 3rd millennium B.C. through to the Etruscan era.
PIEVE DI SORANO

The parish church of Santo Stefano of Sorano in Filattiera is one of the most important Romanesque churches in the province of Massa Carrara. Quoted in important Diocese of Luni documents dating back to the XI century, the Pieve enjoyed its heyday until the fourteenth century, when it began to be abandoned and gradually transformed into a cemetery chapel.

This archaeological area explores the ancient roman city of Lunae near the ancient mouth of the river Magra, and is home to many Etruscan and Roman artefacts. With halls dedicated to mosiacs other artifacts, you can also visit various archaeological digs including the amphitheatre and grand temple.
FORTEZZA DELLA BRUNELLA

The impressive medieval fortress which houses the Lunigiana Natural History Museum, formally home of the English artist Aubrey Waterfield as written about in his daughter's novel "A Tuscan Childhood".
